Looking for something new to read?

Need some suggestions?

Try one of our Adult Picks bibliographies! The Adult Reference Librarians are always compiling new lists of books, films, CDs, resources, etc. to make finding what you’re looking for a little bit easier.

I can’t name all of our lists and picks in one setting, but here are a few to get you started:

Fantasy series
This lists a variety of fantasy series in alphabetical order by author, including classics like Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series and Piers Anthony’s Xanth series.

Futures Past Classic Science Fiction
With timeless classics such as Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth and H.G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds and collections such as One Hundred Years of Science Fiction, both longtime sci-fi fans and those new to the genre can find a fun summer title from this list.

Little Gems
Do you enjoy shorter reads with strong storylines? With great picks like Michelle Herman’s Dog: A Short Novel and Penelope Lively’s Making It Up, this is the list for you!

Staff Favorites
Want to ask library staff what we’ve been reading? Here’s your chance to find out! We’ve shared our favorite books that we read in 2011, spanning multiple genres and age ranges.

Still not finding what you’re looking for? You can browse through most of the lists on the Lists & Picks tab on our website, or you can pick up print copies of our most current bibliographies at the library!
