Devil in the Junior League by Linda Francis Lee

Some of us may have to think back a little further than others, but I'm sure we all remember that girl. She was the flawless beauty with impeccable hair and the perfect body.

She was also the student body president, homecoming and prom queen, head cheerleader, and dating the captain of the football and baseball teams. So what happens when she grows up? She runs for president of the Junior League, of course. She will win ... after all, she is beautiful and rich (her own words).

Meet Fredericka Mercedes Hildebrand Ware--Frede to her intimate circle. Poor Frede is about to fall from grace because her husband has run off with another woman and all her money. She has to keep her life (heaven forbid!) from becoming the newest fodder for the gossip mill of the Junior Leaguers.

Enter sleazy lawyer Howard Grout. The deal: she has to get his wife, the former stripper who thinks the height of fashion is pink spandex, into the Junior League.

When I read a humorous book, I expect it to make me laugh out loud, and this book delivers. I heard on the rumor mill that Jennifer Garner has bought the rights to this title. I can't wait to see her with blonde hair and a southern accent.

If you share my love for witty and comical chick lit, you might also enjoy Watermelon by Marian Keyes or The Cinderella Pact by Sarah Strohmeyer.
