Join a book club

You do know we have a book club at the library, right? This month on Sunday April 26th at 2PM, you should come to our reading room by the coffee shop and discuss Dashiell Hammett's The Maltese Falcon.

Everyone in town's read it. It's our big read book, and it's the center of all the fun programming going on right now. The free film noir movie showings weekly at the Champaign Public and Urbana Free Libraries (pssst! tonight at 7PM you can see Gun Crazy for free in the Urbana Free Library's auditorium). The free talk from Prof. Pat Gill this Friday evening (be there at 6:30 sharp, tough guy) at the Urbana Free--I hear she's an enjoyable speaker, at that must be the case for us to stay open late for her talk. Then there's the discussion on Sunday.

If you haven't read this book yet, get started! It's a quick read, and fun, too. It's also fun to talk about, especially if you talk like Sam Spade while doing so. This is my town, and I say you'll come talk about this book. You'll talk about it and you'll talk like heck!
