The Boy Who Was Raised By Librarians
The Boy Who Was Raised By Librarians
Written by Carla Morris ; Illustrated by Brad Sneed
Okay folks—It is indeed me--a dedicated adult services librarian--blogging about a children’s picture book. But a wonderful, library-centric children’s picture book that makes me feel good about my profession.
Young Melvin hung out at the library. Melvin was curious about everything and knew the library was just the right place for a curious boy. It was full of wonderful books on every topic. His buddies at the Reference Desk were always there to help him find just what he needed to answer his questions. “They couldn’t help it; that’s how librarians are.”
If you like public libraries and librarians, if you appreciate how we librarians can affect the lives of our patrons, this tale will speak to you. The illustrations are beautiful and the characters come alive.
Why am I spreading the word and blogging about this book? I can’t help it. That’s how we (Web 2.0 social networking) librarians are!
